Why Choose Us for Private Jet Charter
Every operator in our network holds current FAA Part 135 certification, or the EASA equivalent for European operators, the regulatory standard governing commercial charter operations, crew duty limits, and aircraft maintenance oversight. Combined with ARGUS/Wyvern ratings, this means every aircraft you fly with us has passed both government-mandated safety audits and independent third-party vetting.
How Much Does a Private Jet from London Cost?
The price of a flight from London depends on four things. The estimator on this site lets you test other airports, dates and passenger counts.
- Distance and flight time. Paris is under an hour in a jet, while New York and Dubai take about seven.
- Aircraft class. Light jets suit most European trips, and only heavy and ultra-long-range jets fly nonstop to New York or Dubai.
- The London airport. Each airport is a different distance from your destination, and some have shorter opening hours or slot limits.
- Season and availability. Summer in the Mediterranean and winter in the Alps tighten availability and raise prices. Flexible dates can open up empty leg prices.
You can run other airport combinations, dates and passenger counts in our private jet cost estimator.
London Private Jet Airports: Which One to Choose
London has no single private jet airport. The right one depends on which side of the city you start from, when you need to leave and which aircraft you fly.
| Airport | Part of London | Hours and restrictions | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Farnborough (FAB) | West and southwest | Dedicated business aviation airport with set opening hours, shorter at weekends | The default choice for most routes |
| Biggin Hill (BQH) | Southeast | Long opening hours, no slots required, early and late movements by prior permission | Early departures, late returns, south London and Kent |
| Luton (LTN) | North | Slots required, night movements limited | North London and the M1 corridor |
| Stansted (STN) | Northeast | Open around the clock, slots required, night quota in summer | Ultra-long-range jets, Essex and the northeast |
| London City (LCY) | East | Shorter hours, limited weekend schedule, slots required, approved aircraft only | The City and Canary Wharf with smaller aircraft |
| Heathrow (LHR) | West | Strict slots, night slots almost never issued | Connecting with airline flights when a slot is available |
| Gatwick (LGW) | South | Limited daytime slots, night slots almost never issued | Sussex and the south coast |
| Northolt (NHT) | Northwest | Dual-use military airfield, prior permission required, shorter hours at weekends | The closest business aviation option to central London |
| London Oxford (OXF) | West, outside London | Long opening hours, extensions available on request | Lower handling fees and a longer drive |
| Southend (SEN) | East, on the Essex coast | Long daily hours, extensions possible by arrangement | Essex and the Thames estuary |
Farnborough (FAB)
Farnborough is a dedicated business aviation airport serving west London, Surrey and Hampshire, about an hour by road from the center. It has set opening hours, with a later start and earlier close at weekends and no extensions, so check the times against your plan. It is our default starting point on most routes.
Biggin Hill (BQH)
Biggin Hill is 12 miles from central London, 30 to 60 minutes by road depending on traffic, and serves south London and Kent. It has some of the longest opening hours of the London airports and does not require slots. Early departures and late arrivals are possible with prior permission, which makes it a good choice when you need an early start or a late return.
Luton (LTN)
Luton serves north London and the M1 corridor, typically 50 to 90 minutes by road. Slots are required and night movements are limited, with a small number of exceptions in summer for quieter aircraft, so your operator confirms the departure time.
Stansted (STN)
Stansted has a 3,049 m runway and is open around the clock, which suits ultra-long-range aircraft, although slots are required and a night quota applies in summer. It is about 60 minutes from central London by road and works well for Essex and the northeast.
London City (LCY)
London City is about six miles from central London, close to Canary Wharf and the City. It has a short 4,948 ft runway and a steep approach, so only approved aircraft and crews can use it, mostly turboprops and light jets plus a few midsize types. Heavy jets cannot operate there. Hours are shorter than at other airports, with a limited weekend schedule, and every arrival and departure needs a slot.
Heathrow (LHR)
Heathrow is about 15 miles west of central London, with a 12,802 ft runway and a business aviation terminal run by Signature Flight Support. Slots are strict and night slots are almost never issued, so most private flights prefer Farnborough or Luton. It can work when a slot is available and you want to connect with an airline flight.
Gatwick (LGW)
Gatwick serves the south of London and Sussex, with a single business aviation terminal run by Signature Flight Support. Daytime slots can be available through a local handler, but night slots are almost never issued and a night noise quota applies.
Northolt, Oxford and Southend
Three smaller airports sometimes come up. Northolt is the closest business aviation airport to central London but is dual-use military, needs prior permission and has shorter opening hours, especially at weekends. London Oxford is about an hour’s drive away with lower handling fees. Southend has long daily opening hours, with extensions possible by arrangement.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a private jet from London cost?
For short European flights, a light jet from London starts at about $7,900 one way to Paris. To New York, a midsize jet with a fuel stop costs about $46,900 and a heavy jet about $63,800. These are indicative estimates for the whole aircraft, and the final price depends on the airport, the date and availability.
Which London airport is best for a private jet?
Farnborough is the usual choice for most routes. Biggin Hill has the longest opening hours and no slots, Luton suits north London, and Stansted suits ultra-long-range jets. Choose the airport closest to where you start and check its opening hours against your plans.
Can I charter a private jet from Heathrow or Gatwick?
Yes, but slots are strict and night slots are almost never issued. Most private flights use Farnborough, Biggin Hill or Luton instead. Your operator confirms what is available for your date.
Can private jets fly from London City Airport?
Only approved aircraft and crews can, because of the airport’s short runway and steep approach. That mostly means turboprops, light jets and a few midsize types. Heavy jets cannot operate there.
Can I fly from London and return the same day?
Yes, on many European routes. A same-day round trip is estimated at about 1.8 times the one-way fare. Check the closing time of your London airport before planning the return, because Farnborough closes earlier than most, especially at weekends.
Which destinations are most popular from London by private jet?
Paris, Nice, Ibiza and Geneva are the most popular in Europe, followed by New York and Dubai for long-haul. Flight times are about an hour to Paris, 1 hour 25 minutes to Geneva, 1 hour 45 minutes to Nice, 2 hours to Ibiza and 7 hours to New York or Dubai.
